Bone Grafting

THE PROBLEM WITH BONE LOSS

When a tooth is lost, the surrounding bone will immediately start to wear away without the stimulation of the root. If you lose many teeth or even all of your teeth, your entire jaw will slowly wear down until even wearing dentures becomes problematic, if not impossible.
Bone deterioration can also occur with severe disease like periodontal disease. If too much bone wears away it will also become impossible to restore your teeth with dental implants. However, there is good news for today’s patients; there is a solution - a dental bone graft. .

LEARN MORE ABOUT DENTAL BONE GRAFTS

There are a number of bone grafting procedures available to you to restore your oral health and allow for placement of permanent restorations like dental implants including:

B one Grafting
Replace lost bone and restore areas of low bone density with bone from a second site or donated bone.

R idge Augmentation
Restore the natural contours of your gums after tooth loss to allow for healthy and natural-looking restorations

R idge Preservation
Preserve soft tissue and prevent the bone from collapsing after tooth loss to make future restorations possible

S inus Lift/ Augmentation
When an upper back tooth is lost, the sinuses can impede placement of implants. A sinus lift moves the sinus floor up and out of the way to create space for additional bone.
